Lunch is over and the next set of sessions start in a few minutes, so I thought I’d jot down a few notes about our meal and my trek through the exhibitors’s hall.
Lunch was a choice of several types of sandwiches (turkey, italian, chicken salad, vegetarian, and something else), small salad cups, a selection of fruit, sodas and water, and dessert for those who desired it. Rich and I (barely) found a table to sit at – a couple thousand people trying to eat at the same time filled the dining area, the halls, the floors, the stairs outside, and I think I saw a dozen or so people on the ceiling.
During lunch, we tried to figure out just how I screwed up putting tags on the links I added to del.icio.us . (Help us, Mr. Wizard- uh, Janene!) Hopefully, we’ll get that resolved at some point.
After lunch, I braved the crowds with my empty lunch sack, hoping to score some swag in the exhibit hall – or as I like to now call it, the place with about a hundred different kinds of projectors, digital presenters, administrative software systems, etc. Rich and I talked a couple of minutes to the PBSOnline folks (hello, Michelle Adams!), and I snagged a groovy mousepad. Never could find a projector that fit in my bag. Maybe I didn’t look hard enough.
The problem for me is that the only thing a lot of the exhibitors had for takeaway/giveaway was candy. And none of it was sugar free. Those of you who know me best know why this is of concern for me.
Rich and I did get to talk to the Tom Snyder rep about what’s coming down the pike for FasttMath and its upgrade. It’s all good.
And now I’m going into standby and hobbling down to the Visual Communicator session. Methinks this is something we can use at BFW when we (hopefully) upgrade our TV studio next year.
See ya!
